BASEBALL REGISTRATION STEPS

1 BASEBALL AGE CHART (BOYS & GIRLS)

You must register for the Division listed for your age. Your age must be verifiable by a government issued birth certificate. Please do not falsify your child's birthday in order to register for a non-age appropriate level. You may indicate your desire to have your child play up during the registration process.
If you would like to request to play at a higher or lower division, you can indicate PETITION TO PLAY UP or PETITION TO PLAY DOWN during your registration.

BASEBALL DIVISIONS

A Ages 6-7- Children age 6 are eligible if they have already completed one year in T-Ball. At this level we continue to focus on learning the basis and coaches pitch to the players using a soft "Incrediball". Emphasis is on basic skills, teamwork and fun. Team are organized by school as much as possible. Expect one practice and one game each week.
AA Ages 8- At this level of play there is increased focus on basic skills, teamwork, respect for coaches and umpires, and the rules of the game while still retaining a fun atmosphere. Coaches pitch to the players using RIF (Reduced Injury Factor) 5 ball. Team formation is based upon home school as much as possible. Expect one practice and one game each week.
AAA Age 9- Players pitch for the first time and stealing is introduced! This is the entry into competitive baseball with increased emphasis on basic skills, playmaking decisions, teamwork along with respect for umpires and coaches. Intensity level of play appropriately increased. Regulation hardballs are used. Balanced teams are formed as Managers draft players to be on their team using results from the mandatory Skills Evaluation. Scorekeeping, pitch counts, game scores and standings are all introduced. Expect two-three events each week.
Coast Age 10- The level of competition increases as players pitch with steals allowed. Emphasis on basic skills, playmaking decisions, teamwork and respect for umpires and coaches. Balanced teams are formed as Managers draft players to be on their team using results from the mandatory Skills Evaluation. Scorekeeping, pitch counts, game scores, standings, end of season Tournament and Championship. Expect one practice and two games each week.
Majors Ages 11-12- Advanced, competitive play. Emphasis on refining of all skills learned at previous levels. Balanced teams are formed as Managers draft players to be on their team using results from the mandatory Skills Evaluation. Those players not assigned to a Majors team are automatically entered into the Coast level. Scorekeeping, pitch counts, game scores, standings, end of season Tournament and Championship. Expect one practice and two games each week.

Intermediate (Age 13)

Juniors (Age 14)

Seniors (Age 15-16)

Ages 13-16- Advanced, competitive play. Players must be ready to add more skill and strategy to their game. Defensive awareness along with knowing where to make the play and how to run the bases becomes a more critical part of the game. Base stealing, sliding, and lead offs are allowed starting at this level. Diamond size is an 80 or 90 foot base path with a 54 or 60 foot pitching distance. Depending upon the number of players that register to play, teams will typically have between 12-15 players. Practice starts in March and games start in April. There will be approximately 22-25 games against other District 9 leagues including Bellevue, Sammamish, Eastlake, Redmond, etc. during the season and games are 7 innings. Includes Post-season District and State All-Star Tournaments, Regional tournament and the Junior League Baseball World Series. Bat size goes up to a maximum of 2-5/8" diameter (big barrel) and 2-1/4" diameter bats may still be utilized. Metal or molded rubber cleats depending upon fields utilized.

 
2 ISSAQUAH LITTLE LEAGUE BOUNDARY

Issaquah Little League boundary is based on the geographic attendance area of the following Issaquah School District Elementary Schools which feed into Pacific Cascade Middle School, Issaquah Middle School and a portion of Maywood Middle School:

  • Be sure you live or attend a school within the boundaries before registering, we cannot refund your registration processing fee of $25 if you live outside the Issaquah Little League boundaries.
  • If you live outside the Issaquah Little League boundary in a neighboring league and wish to play in Issaquah, you must follow the Little League International Waiver Accommodation process to request permission from your League's President for a specific reason. This Waiver, if approved, lasts for one season and removes your child from any All-Star eligibility in either league. Contact the Player Agent for more information.

4 SCHOLARSHIPS

Registration Fee Scholarship
  • Issaquah Little League offers scholarships for families where our fee would present a hardship. During registration indicate your Scholarship request by selecting the appropriate Division scholarship level and use the text box to explain the circumstances that make the scholarship necessary.

5 MANAGERS, COACHES, UMPIRES, AND OTHER VOLUNTEERS

MANAGER or COACH
  • If you are going to Volunteer to Manager or Coach, register your child first and then create a new an additional registration selecting "2018 Baseball - Coaches & Volunteers" from the registration menu and enter your own information and the age group you wish to Coach or Manage. (Remember in baseball the MANAGER is the "Head Coach" while the COACH is the "Assistant Coach")
  • Once you register as Manager or Coach you will receive an email with an attached PDF. Follow instructions precisely to submit your identification information for a Little League mandatory BACKGROUND CHECK. Contact our League Secretary for more info.
UMPIRE
  • If you plan to be a volunteer Adult Umpire or a paid Junior Umpire you will need to create a new registration selecting Umpire from the registration menu. Remember, you must have an account for your family before you can register.
  • Once you register as Adult or Junior Umpire you will receive an email with an attached PDF. Follow instructions precisely to submit your identification information for a Little League mandatory BACKGROUND CHECK. Contact our League Secretary for more info.

OTHER VOLUNTEERS
  • If you are going to Volunteer in any capacity from Scorekeeper, Snack Parent, or Board of Directors, create a an additional registration for yourself selecting "2018 Baseball - Coaches & Volunteers" from the registration menu and entering your own information and the age group you wish to volunteer for.
